THE MANY FACED RAIN

To children it brings joy,
When the paper boat is a toy.
To players, it brings a cry,
‘How to play, if the court isn't dry?'
To the vendor, it brings a test,
How to protect his goods at the best.
To a man in love, it brings an opportunity,
Of sharing an umbrella with his affinity.
To the students in school, it brings hope,
Teacher's absence, they won't have to cope.
To mothers it brings concern, and they brood:
‘The clothes aren't dry and the rancidity in food’.

A rain in the Sun is like ice on the burn,
The same in winter damps the timber.
Sometimes a pray for and sometimes a pray
after,
Sometimes a boon and sometimes a disaster.

RAIN

Why does it rain?
Perhaps, for the earth’s pain!
She has withered under Sun’s strokes
And suffocated by the chimneys’ smoke.

She runs through the breathless space,
Sweaty, thirsty - moisture has left no trace.
Apathetic, some nonchalant,
Forgot to water the plant.
Why do the clouds burst?
Perhaps to quench their thirst.

The skyscrapers have covered the sky,
Stealing light from the passers by.
Why does the lightning strike?
Perhaps, for a moments light!

I AM MY

My life was pleasant
When I was a child,
But becoming a teenager
It became very mild.

When I entered the hostel,
I was an innocent boy
Didn’t care for anyone
And I was my.

I made many friends
As I was expert
But got cheated many a times
That was its result.

Amidst them
I found someone
Who cared me
Unlike anyone.

I considered him the best
And adjusted him in my nest
That time I wasn’t my
Slowly I converted into a toy.

Toy! Yes toy
With whom he played
Used when needed
Otherwise……, can’t be conveyed.

“Just don’t talk to me”
Was the result of my faith
And I just couldn't choose
Either life or death.

Years passed away,
Just like clouds in the sky
But he never came to ask
That how was I.

Darkness wiped away
As I met some comrades at a halt,
They boarded on my train
To help me as they told.

I checked them, whether
They were correct
Learning from my past, so that
I must not repent.

As per my test
I found them right
And signed together a treaty
Of never to fight.

I was totally dedicated to my friends
Till papa awoke me
“Be selfish in this world “
Said he confusing me.

‘Selfish!’ hearing this
I was amazed.
But got consoled
When I was explained.

“you have came alone
On this earth
It’s difficult, but try
To control your heart.

Don’t dive in friendship
So much deep,
That you forget from where
You took the leap.

Don’t think that your friend
Will be always with you,
Believe me, as it has
Happened with me too.

Life is a race in which
Everyone participates,
To become renowned
In his habitat.

In the middle
If it happens that you fall
And raise your hand
For someone to hold,

No friend will be there
To ask whether you are fine
Rather you’ll find him
 On the finishing line.

That’s the time,
When you’ll realize
That what you have done
Throughout your life”

Hearing this
I got stunned
That where I was
 And where I turned.

“It’s not too late
 You’ve time
Become cautious
 And make your life shine”

‘Yes, he is right’
That’s what I thought
 And made my heart hard
as I was taught.

Without caring for anyone,
 I travelled by.
And this time it again happened
That I was my.

CIRCUMSTANCES

Out of world, yet on earth,
I retrospect the birth
Of certain instances,
 Just because of circumstances.

A rural area, a village,
Has no privilege,
Of English education pretty wide,
To cast the selfless thought, aside,
Of weaning a child, out of town,
From his family, for a disguised crown.

These are common instances,
just because of circumstances.

Staying away in boarding,
You adapt,  by absconding
Away the nostalgic feeling,
Under an alien ceiling.
You are self reliant and shut
At the beak, however, but
The bargain is not fulfilled,
And circumstances are quite skilled.

Your complexion, your serenity,
Your health, your homogeneity,
Your childhood, others' affection,
Your birthday, your celebration,

You give up to these instances,
Just because of circumstances.

AN UNWANTED LOVE

It takes a moment, a little time,

When you ruin or shine,
Commit mistakes and atone,
Win a race or lie prone.

 Started late, yet very early,

Exposure to co-ed fared fairly.
Crush! On every second beautiful,
I’m a man, not that shameful.

But the steady winds of life

Flickered and blew aside,
Introduced me to the fragrance of love,
Serene, exotic, rejoicing and dove.

A single sight of her stupefies me,

Where in the world is anything better to see?

 No falling waterfall,

or the wind at a seashore,
The winter's sunlight,
Or the midnight's moonlight,
Is as pleasant as to tie
To the grandeur of her smile.

 A diffraction at the canopy,

Or a world cup trophy,
A glistening diamond,
Or Stevenson’s ‘Treasure Island’,
Doesn't shine as bright as
Her sharp, mischeivous brown eyes.

 Such a creation.

What better they have in heaven?

 But nature loves symmetry,

And I fulfill no geometry.
 Sandal woods, snakes does like,
Ironically, the converse is a lie.

Though you like or dislike, it’s free

Yet the favorable return… not necessary.
The world is a hoax,
And exceptions are talks.

I leave,  she’ll get an affinity soon,

Because moonlight is only for moon.
And I walk alone, to find a solution,
To jettison this unwanted attraction...
